Anti Fed Ed Warriors, many of you are parents. Many of you know, children are a blessing, not a burden.
However, the CCSS Machine’s using COVID-19 to put more guilt on you than you may be aware of. The CCSS Machine is certainly willing and ready to manipulate you. All in the name of ‘safety’, ‘access’, and, ‘student success’.
A recent webinar by the Campaign for GRL (Grade Level Reading) entity advertised their event with the phrase ‘parents are good co-producers’. (see the featured image, or below). The phrase also used the word ‘outcomes’ for students.
Now, the context for ‘parents as good co-producers’ was that WHEN parents interact WITH schools in a partnership.
Not that parents are far more important than ‘co-producers’, but that parents must have a relationship with the school, especially the teacher. That shouldn’t be a problem, however, when you apply the fact that the webinar was all about using behavior science as a way to micro-manage families, it’s very much a problem.
The overall tone of the 4 presenting ‘experts’ was that because of COVID-19, keeping track of each student and each family was proving hard and that ALL students must be located. WHY? To see how the school could provide for the student’s every need.
ISN’T THAT A PARENT’S ‘JOB’? Did the school help procreate your children? Did the school come to your home and help teach that child to walk, talk, use the bathroom, tie their shoes?! Does the school go grocery shopping for you?
In most circumstances, NO!! Parents do all those things!!
The “Experts”:
Warriors, the National PTA, Harvard University, Attendance Works, and the Maine school are all members of the CCSS Machine.
The moderator, Helen Westmoreland, waxed almost poetic during each time she talked. She had a soft voice and made sure to smile all the while she was promoting how parents need all the help they can get and the school was the ideal place.
Todd Rogers of Harvard was the one who explained that behavior science (BS) is a necessary tool to use on parents, especially where schools are concerned. His definition of BS? The study of how people think and act (or behave).
According to Collegechoice.net, BS is this:
‘Behavioral Science is a combination of psychology, sociology, and cultural anthropology. You’ll study the factors that influence human behavior and the effect of human behavior on families, workplaces, and society. Finally, you’ll learn to apply this knowledge to help people through prevention and intervention.’
Seems, Rogers left some key information out, but considering the place he works for, I’m not surprised.
(Harvard’s recently written a scathing article about parents and education. More on that later.)
Rogers also shared in the GLR webinar that BS is needed because right now parents have no clue what ‘normal’ in education means. He went on to say that because not every family is connected to a school digitally (he said it’s the bottom 1/3 of families who are usually low-income), that a school must gain the trust of these parents so the families can be found. If a school makes things easier for parents, they’ll have less friction and better compliance when it comes to the children’s education. Of course, this is all tied up in a nice sounding package about we really care about school attendance and GPAs. Why? National testing scores!
Now, Warriors, I ask you, does this truly sound like a school which cares about the well-being of its students OR does it smack of COVID-19 or not, we need those test scores to improve?!
Rogers’ bottom line? Data tracking can’t happen if the school can’t find you; so schools need to step up the tracking of each family.
Next up was Hedy Chang. She was the one who dared to utter the ‘whole village’ concept in tracking families. I’ll also share that everything Chang stated used this from the attendance angle.
Warriors, much like the Multi Tiers of SEL (Social Emotional Learning), the BS has tiers for use on families.
Let me add that all during the webinar, Westmoreland, as moderator, would throw in how BS is used in student report cards, emails sent to parents, on-line classes, and, more. Why? As we said before, it’s to data mine and get into your mind!
Below is what’s known as a PBIS tiered system. Positive Behavior Intervention System. This is used in schools for all those children labeled with some sort of mental or emotional issue. In the webinar it was suggested that you use reverse psychology in reaching parents during COVID-19. That’s what the Attendance Works Tiers (above) are displaying.
Conformity is key, Warriors! Notice in the blue tiers, that emotional competency is measured for ALL the family, not simply the student. As far as the ‘whole village’, Chang suggested getting creative in tracking families down. Use their friends, contact their churches or sports teams and find out where these people are!
I must point out that all these COVID-19 measures will be kept in place AFTERWARDS, at least if all these ‘experts’ have their way and convince your schools to be a nanny authority.
The final ‘expert’ was a principal from a rural Maine school. Now, if you’re not from Maine, you may not know that rural schools are called RSUs (Regional School Units). Angela Madigan’s school is RSU #57. RSUs join forces with other schools to provide WASPs (Wrap Around Service Programs), as well as have strong parent-school-teacher partnerships. Madigan offered up ideas for other schools to follow her’s, as far as how to engage parents so they want to partner. Families ‘miss out’ if they aren’t connected to a school. Of course, because she framed all she shared in that context, it was so that whatever hunger, whatever sickness, whatever struggle; the school was the answer in helping meet needs. Madigan also stated that parents ‘buy-in’ to schools better when they partner together because schools can provide ALL the solutions.
Warriors, as Anti Hoge pointed out years ago, and since ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act), schools are to become the CENTER of every community and/or neighborhood, offering every service for the entire family.
This is absolutely what we’ll be left with after COVID-19 leaves! Many States have much of the foundation for this already in place BECAUSE of ESSA!
That Harvard Article:
Warriors, so many people have shared the infamous recent article on the cover of the Harvard magazine. There’s also been plenty written in response to that article. If you missed it, you won’t know that homeschooling got thrown under the bus. Why? The parents. So it shouldn’t be dismissed that a Harvard man (Rogers, above), was an expert in this webinar.
I’ve written countless articles exposing Harvard’s alliance with not only the UN and globalism, but the CCSS Machine.
Concisely put, Harvard is on the front lines of reshaping America, and not in a good way.
Not too long after the Harvard article, comes a totally opposite one about parents being so overwhelmed with the school kids at home, they simply cannot go on. This one’s from Time magazine. (Another CCSS Machine member).
These are precisely the parents the GLR Webinar will seek out…and ‘get them’. Unless we intervene.
Closing:
Warriors, make no mistake, the CCSS Machine, as well as our federal government, will not rest until our children are theirs, 100%. If anyone thinks that ‘COVID-19 school at home’ is real homeschooling, they are wrong. The mainstream media is calling school at home, homeschooling on purpose. To muddy the waters. To show we must be rescued in their ways and by their system.
Also, don’t gloss over that the plans being made are ones which will survive after COVID-19. As a parent, will you stand to still be labeled a ‘co-producer’? Will you fight back and assert your rightful place in your child’s life?
