We’ve reached May 2018, Warriors. Will we see anything new in the War Vs the Core, this month?! I know many of us are still (after all these years) finding information almost daily which points to just how wide and deep the CCSS Machine’s forest of lies is.
‘Robbing Hood’, though?! Obviously, my Anti Fed Ed Warriors, it’s my play on the classic character “Robin Hood”. We all know how he stole from the rich to give to the poor, right? We all know WHAT his motivation was. (Hint: righting a government derived ‘wrong’). In some ways, we are like the classic character’s mission. However, in some ways, the government has assumed Robin’s mission, henceforth, “Robbing Hood”.
Robbing Hood’s Recent Visit:
I don’t know about your State, Warriors, but here in NC, the ‘forest’ has been visited recently.
According to the NC DPI’s (NC Dept. of Public Instruction) announcement an April meeting of the Joint Legislative Task Force on Education Finance Reform took place with special a ‘guest expert’ Dr. Marguerite Roza from The Edunomics Lab at Georgetown University.
(*Note Dr. Roza also is a Sr. Research Affiliate at the Center for Reinventing Education is a HUGE CCSS Machine member group.)
Notice, this person who’s big on education alignment (aka reform) also is helping direct the funding ACROSS the nation! The Center is also a big funding partner of Edunomics. So, any ‘research’ is bound to be subjective and worthless as far as quality academics.
Looking at the slide presentation from Roza, should leave no illusions of the intent to continue the government overreach into education via our taxpayer dollars.
Think of it this way: the Merry Men of Sherwood Forest got someone who didn’t live in the Forest to tell them what they should do for the others who live there. (*Personal reflection, if your State’s slogan is promoting itself as ‘great’ and folks are to believe ‘education is local’, why didn’t the Task Force seek qualified experts from WITHIN the Forest?!)
If you wish to see Roza’s 2016 presentation (Funding and Regulating for Productivity) where she used “Robin Hood” policies, it’s here.
If you wish to see the 2018 NC ‘specific’ presentation (How States Divvy Up Education Funds Matter), that’s here.
*BONUS: by looking at both presentations, you’ll not only see how education money is used, but you’ll find out information about your State. This is key to fighting in your State. Oh, and let’s not forget that ‘redistribution of wealth’ is an un-American, unconstitutional move of globalism.
If you’ve not seen Roza’s 2016 You Tube on “Harnessing School Effects” via education financing, you can watch it here.
One point Roza made which we need to carry forth in this Era of ESSA mandates:
an increase in school staff will take money to support. Knowing the ESSA mandates for more SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) and all we’ve learned about how many MORE staff positions will be created, we should all be looking at Robbing Hood, the Forest, and everyone/everywhere in between.
Closing:
Warriors, our taxes are already being used against us in education. Programs and ways we never asked for, voted for, or, supported. Yet, we’ll continue to be asked to ‘pay up’.
Robbing Hood needs to know this, ‘you can’t get blood from a turnip.’ (Meaning: taxpayers can’t give what they don’t have.)
Lastly, to the NC Task Force, next time you need really objective research, call me. I can help you out.
